Bought a brand new van at work, we’ve had it a week... today a deer jumped in front of it. (Clip is NSFW/language)
Let’s see, I’ve already had to spend $10k on body damage since the start of this year... I’m averaging spending $5k a month. Where’s my damn liquor?

Was it a Buck? Did the driver get a souvenir? What happened to the meat?
All we seem to be running over up here are Skunks lately.

I don’t know, I’m assuming it’s splattered all over the road. And I hope it hurt.
I’m not a hunter, but this made me want to grab a rifle and shoot a bunch of deer in the face. I’m not having a good start to the year with my fleet.

We protect Deer and the damn Giant Canada Goose way too much.
I’m guessing you have $14 budgeted for repairs when you need $12K?

Fortunately I won’t be constrained when it comes to fixing them, it’s just... I’m so over spending money. $1800 to do brakes on a van that shouldn’t have needed them yet but calipers seized. $1400 on another van that needs a new control module. At least the van that had its transmission commit suicide was still under warranty, so I didn’t have to pay for that.

It was still drivable, fortunately. Those Chevy Express vans are tanks.

Damn. What kind of vans?
In my mind I keep seeing Chevy Express vans. (Only because I worked for one Company that employed a full time body/paint guy that specialized in them.)

We have a little of everything. The transmission was on a Ford E-Series. Those seem to have transmission problems, we’ve had to replace a few of them over the years. I hate Nissan’s NVs big and small because parts are NEVER EVER in stock, no matter the part. Then when you finally get the part it costs 2 to 3 times as much as other vans. GM vans are long lived but little things constantly go wrong.

Screw the NV! That thing is hateful.
I found the secret to Ford Trannies.
Mopar ATF +4. It’s basically a bottle of friction modifiers.

It would be ok if Nissan would just get their shit together. I cannot count on any parts being in stock EVER. That’s the death knell for a commercial vehicle and is totally inexcusable. Plus a TPMS system that can only ever be reset correctly by a dealer, the little NVs only having ONE DAMN TIRE to choose from (that lasts 19k miles, btw), and I’m done with them.

I’d be done too. Parts and support is what made the old, OLD Dodge, Ford and Chevy Vans awesome.
But we need to think Global now..
Bah humbug!

Hope you got a good offensive line, because he’s a bit fragile. He started to pile up the injuries as he went because he holds onto the ball too long, including a grade 2 separation of his non-throwing shoulder. I think he can be good, but I think he’s at risk of having a short shelf life because of this.
I guess we’ll see if the Broncos like Trevor Siemian as much as they claim to.

I think he’ll work out. He's got a great arm and we can train him for a quick release. If not... Back to the drawing board.
